Essie Gel Couture Polishes Review | NailsByErin

Hi everyone!

Today I have two swatches from the Essie Gel Couture line. I was recently sent these polishes to review and I cannot believe I haven't tried out the Gel Couture line sooner!

I've been a long-time fan of Essie nail polishes (they were some of the first I ever had) and these are becoming new favorites of mine.

I received the below 8 nail polishes as well as the Platinum Grade top coat.

Overall impressions: these shades are gorgeous, the formulas are smooth and easy to apply, and the two step system seems to really compliment each other. Not to mention, these have the new, flatter and wider Essie brush which makes application a dream!! I am SO excited about their new brush and I think it is a huge improvement.

Now, into the swatches!

Essie "Make the Cut" is a taupe-y nude cream with a subtle pearl finish. Such an elegant and classic shade! This will look great on so many people.

No base coat is needed for these nail polishes: it is a 2 step system (the first being the color, and the second being the top coat, as seen below)

I had so much fun doing some more artsy shots of these polishes. And since fall is my favorite season, I tried to use the beautiful autumnal colors in my photos!

Essie "Model Clicks" is a vampy burgundy wine shade. Here I'm wearing two coats with the Platinum Grade Finish top coat. Look at that shine!! I think "Model Clicks" is my favorite at the moment.

Colors like this are my ultimate fall go-to, and this one might top my list this year. It looks so gorgeous on and I really can't get over how shiny the Platinum Grade top coat makes everything.

And even without a base coat, I didn't experience much staining. With a shade like this, that is a definite win!

I tried to do most of my photos outside in natural light, but thanks to daylight savings, I have a limited window. Here's a shot of "Model Clicks" under my artificial lights. I think it definitely looks darker and vampier indoors. Natural light really helps bring out those red tones!

I'm hoping to do more swatches and reviews from this group as I wear them throughout the next few months. Which one would you like to see next?
