Gingerbread Nail Art | Christmas Cookie Mani Swap

Hello everyone, and happy December!

I am already completely in the holiday spirit, so I am really excited to share this festive mani with you all.

I was asked by 25 Sweetpeas to join her Christmas Cookie Mani Swap, and I was happy to join! Basically this swap is a blogger collaboration with a holiday theme, except we are also swapping our favorite Christmas cookie recipes! Christmas cookies are an important part of the holiday season for my family, so I decided to do a nail design inspired by our favorite cookie: gingerbread!

(No pun intended by the fact that I am a ginger, and my favorite cookie is gingerbread. Lol 😂)

Check out the cover with everyone's cookies on it! Thanks again to Sarah from 25 Sweetpeas for putting this all together, it turned out awesome 😊

My family's gingerbread recipe was found over 15 years ago in a Pillsbury Complete Book of Baking cookbook, and we have stuck to it ever since. It is absolutely the best! The cookies turn out to be a soft gingerbread cookie, rather than hard and dry, and they have just the right amount of spice. I highly recommend you try out our recipe!

You can find all of the swap's cookie recipes here, including my gingerbread recipe!

Now, onto the nail art.

For the last few years, I have been decorating our gingerbread cookies, so I decided to do my nail art inspired by the designs and colors I put on the cookies. I kept the nail art pretty simple but I think they look so cute and look just like the gingerbread cookies!

The brown polish I used for the gingerbread nails is Salon Perfect "Birthmark Beauty" and the green is Essie "On the Roadie". I also used Color Club "Cadillac Red" and Sally Hansen "Mellow Yellow" for some of the details.

This design is actually pretty simple: just a bow, some buttons, and a squiggly line for icing along the bottom! I didn't even add any extra dimension to the bows. It just wasn't turning out looking right so  I decided to skip it. But I think the nails still match the cookies well!

Here are a bunch of cookies from Christmas last year, right after I decorated them! Can't wait to continue this holiday tradition this year.

Please check out the other amazing bloggers who were a part of this swap, and see the awesome nail art and recipes they shared on their blogs!

And please make sure to subscribe while you're there! I'm only about 200 away from 3,000 subscribers... and I think I'm going to do a #facebehindthenails reveal/Q&A when I reach it! 😄

  3. We had poured over cookie recipes to decide which delicious cookies to make. We chose some favorite cookie recipes like a chocolate chip cookie recipe, our best sugar cookie, a peanut butter, a spritz, and a ginger cookie.bakespace
