Mermaid Nails to match my Living Royal Socks!

Hello everyone!

Today I have more nails to go with my new socks from Living Royal! When I saw these mermaid knee high socks online, I thought they were so cute! They have multicolored scales and even a fish tail at the bottom. I immediately knew that I had to do some mermaid scale nails to match.

I had to get a picture of these socks to show how the feet look like the bottom of a mermaid tail! And after some difficult maneuvering, I got a this picture with my nails and socks in front of my pool. I thought it was perfect for the mermaid theme! :)

Keep reading to see how I created this design!
The background of the socks are a minty blue color, so I painted my pinky, index finger, and thumb with Essie "Blossom Dandy". This is one of my favorite Essie polishes of all time. Such a beautiful color, and totally my style. I'm actually going to need a new bottle sometime soon!

Then, since the background of the scales is black, I painted my middle and ring fingernails black. To create the scales, I used the scale nail art stencils from Snail Vinyls, and then painted over it with a gold holographic flaky polish by Glisten and Glow, called "Aye Spy Doubloons". The holographic effect of this polish really helped match the multicolored pattern of the scales on the socks!

That's pretty much the whole design! It's really simple, and the Snail Vinyls stencil makes doing mermaid nails so easy. **Don't forget to use my code NAILSBYERIN for 15% off on SnailVinyls.com!**

I had some shells lying around from my last few times I went down the shore, so I decided to take some pictures with them, too. I definitely went a little crazy with all my pictures for this mani, but I'm really happy with how they turned out :)

This nail art would look great with the mermaid scales on all your nails, or even with a white background behind the gold. The options are endless! I did another mermaid design here with the same vinyls, so you can see there are a lot of ways you can change up the mermaid-style nails.
